The Metro-East Fire Investigation Task Force will work directly with the local jurisdiction, OSFM and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) in the investigation of:

·        Fire Related fatalities/serious injuries

·        Fires of similar nature affecting one or more jurisdictions or fire investigations that cross jurisdictional boundaries

·        Large property losses

·        Serial arsons/arsons for profit

·        Incidents involving detonation of explosives

·        Special circumstances whereby the local jurisdiction determines that the task force is needed
